Our weeks are broken up into weekdays and weekends. In the weight loss world, they’re two entirely different sets of days.

All diets start on Monday, most start to crack on Friday and once they do we eat and drink fearlessly over the weekend, reassuring ourselves that we’ll start fresh on Monday and well be better next time….and so the cycle continues.

The weekends calorie surplus balance out the weekdays calories deficit with a bit more, so you end up dieting 5 days out of 7, while GAINING weight or at very least, not losing any.

We use a system called Calorie Cycling with our 28 Day Transformation clients, which allows them to eat and drink MORE on the weekends, and still get results, lose weight and flatten their stomachs.

Its actually very simple and involves maintaining an AVERAGE daily calorie deficit, which is easier than you might think. If you’ve watched any of my videos, you’ll know you need to be in a calorie deficit to lose fat BUT its not the DAILY calorie goal that matters, its more the weekly or monthly AVERAGE that matters.

For example – if you maintain your weight at 2000 calories per day and lose fat at 1700 per day – thats a calorie deficit of 300 per day. Lets say you do that from Monday to Friday – you bank up 300 calories per day, Monday to Friday, which adds up to a total calorie deficit of 1500 calories by Saturday.

Congratulations – you’re on your way to losing fat.

You may eat 3000 calories on Saturday and Sunday – remember we said you need 2000 calories to maintain your weight? Well if you eat 3000 calories on Saturday and Sunday, thats 1000 calories a day over your maintenance or 2000 over for the whole weekend.

You just wiped out your deficit from Monday to Friday. Pretty disheartening stuff.

Calorie cycling is the system we used with our 28 day Transformation clients to guarantee they’re average calories per week are in a deficit, so they can lose weight, tone up and flatten their stomachs.
